Supercross Season

My track is almost finished as I am preparing to prepare for SX 2011. I know I am old. I know I have been getting slower. These facts do not elude me.

Keep some hope in your heart for me - I may just surprise you. And it isn't one of those cliche out-of-retirement things, since I never actually retired. So you get me again - maybe not the best of me, but me. Doing something I am pretty good at and enjoy doing.

So let's get started. The road is long and winding, so let's keep our eyes on it.

Saturday in hell

It is hotter than your mom in The Dirt Lab today. And I know, that doesn't necessarily mean anything to you, but I would imagine some of our younger followers have some fairly pleasant mom's. That being said, who decided to settle Phoenix, AZ and why? Obviously it was winter when the wagon's stopped and they began construction on some makeshift housing project. By the time summer rolled around, there was no going back. They had bought the lumber from Home Depot, and signed a contract with APS for power - so they were stuck. This place in August has a way of making you want to wash your mouth out with a revolver.

My pity party is over. I am heading to the track to watch some friends ride now. My kids are coming along to check it out and eat some ice cream. Karen's Kreamery sells some great ice cream at the track, which in a small way compensates for the utter absurdity that is Phoenix in August.

Off I go. Enjoy your weekend and don't forget to check your spokes. RC
